		<description>This is one reason why I don't have a page on facebook / linkedin / myspace / any of those other "social networking" sites, whether they're promoted as being professional or not. I don't give out my birthday or other information to people I really trust if they don't need it... why should I give it to the rest of the world?

Although I did get one interesting tidbit of feedback from someone a long time ago... he suggested that even if you don't use a service (like myspace or facebook) you should at least register your name and keep up a placeholder page. The idea: keep someone else from using the same name and possibly getting associated with you. I guess it makes sense. Never did it though.</description>
