A new Google service - Google Health

I meant to post this the day Google Health went public, but Murphy once again had his way, and I didn’t get around to it.
While reading my laundry list of blogs (no, really, I have almost 50 links in my RSS reader), I came across RSnake’s take on the Google Health release. Very well written, and pretty much echoes my complaints. Jerk. 
Bottom line? For a company whose motto is “don’t be evil,” they sure are doing a lot of things wrong. Don’t get me wrong, I like Google, they offer a lot of nice things to the public for free. But this is bad. After uproars (and rightfully so) of stolen laptops, lost backup tapes containing patient records, and vulnerabilities in Google services, I’m scared.
But it gets better. Microsoft already has such a service. Microsoft jokes aside, this is serious. Microsoft doesn’t have the best security record either, nevermind that storing your health records online is a bad idea, it is time to be afraid. Be very afraid.
